Once you are rigged,
12 seconds is all you
need for set up...

HERE IS THE
PROOF!
Practice makes
perfect, but this
really was only our
second
try while being
recorded on video.
Rigging:  (Note, if you purchased a "Rigged" model, please skip to "Set Up" #1)
3.  Unwrap "Wind Tip-up"
includes:  Tip-up,
directions, (1) bolt, (1) large
washer, (2) small washers,
(1) wing nut, (1) lock nut.
2.  You buy or get from tackle box:  
braided line, mono line (spool), BB
split shot, #6 hook, 3/4" bobber
1.  "Wind Tip-up" in package
6.  "Good" side of rivit (on the
"base" or cross
4.  Unclip "base" from "top"
(clip is on flag end of "top"
5.  Unfold top and spread base into a
cross.  Set down with "Good" side of
rivit facing up
7.  Fold the "top" over the
"base".  The "top" should stop
at a 45 degree angle (bend
"base" slightly if needed)
9.  Place the large washer and
one small washer on the bolt
8.  Place bolt through the hole in
"top" (bolt should point down)
CONGRATULATIONS!
You are now fully
rigged.  Please move
on to "Set Up".
10.  Next, place on the spool with
braided line, a small washer, the
wing nut (graphite or light oil
between the wing nut and
washer helps drag), and the lock
nut (tighten lock nut until flush
with top of bolt, but not tight to
Wing Nut).
11.  Tie hook on monofilament
leader, BB split shot 6" above
hook, and tie to braided line.  
Attach bobber
Set Up:  (Note, if you purchased an "Unrigged" model, please see "Rigging" above.
2.  Unfold top and spread base into a
cross.  Set down with "Good" side of
rivit facing up
1.  Unclip "base" from "top"
(clip is on flag end of "top"
3.  Fold the "top" over the
"base".  The "top" should stop
at a 45 degree angle (bend
"base" slightly if needed)
4.  Using depth finder, mark
exact location of bottom with
the bobber.  Bait hook, put line
down hole, and put line in "eye"
of flag as shown above.
6.  TIP-UP!  When fish bites,
flag is tipped, and held up when
weights slide forward.
5.  Both weights should be slid
back to hold flag down.  Set the
drag with the wing nut.
